Solar Energy Vs. Air Pollution

Solar energy is having a "filthy" problem:  Global Air Pollution!

Researchers from Duke University found that air pollutants or air born poison (let's be real!) — fragments that pile up on solar cells — are reducing solar energy output by more than 25 percent in certain parts of the world, costing billions of dollars in profits. The research was circulated this week in the journal in Environment Science & Technology Letters.

The most severely affected territories happen to be those currently investing the most in Clean Energy Infrastructure: China, India and the Arabian Peninsula, according to researchers.

upkeep is essential: the panels examined showed a 50 percent increase in effectiveness from being spruced up after a few weeks. Tidying solar panels is somewhat complicated, and there's a possibility that cleaning them incorrectly could cause an impairment in the expensive structures
Investigating the panels at the Indian Institute of Technology-Gandhinagar, Bergin found they were coated in about 92 percent dust and 8 percent carbon and ion toxins, fragments from manmade pollution.
That 8 percent is notably critical, researchers said, as small particles from human-made pollution are intensely competent at blocking out light.
In poisoned settings, atmosphere particles in the surrounding air also prevent sunlight and undermine solar panel efficiency.

theorizing from their conclusions in India, the researchers project that dry regions like the Arabian Peninsula, Northern India, and Eastern China must be facing massive losses in solar prowess. Solar panels in these provinces face capability losses between 17 to 35 percent, depending on how well they're taken care of.
"We always knew these pollutants were bad for human health and climate change, but now we've shown how bad they are for solar energy as well," Bergin said. "It's yet another reason for policymakers worldwide to adopt emissions controls."
And here, we come to the main point!
I know some of you are considering that Solar is the issue; Perhaps you are thinking that this is another reason why it doesn't measure up.
However, a strong realization is being missed: Fossil fuels, human or manmade pollution is preventing Clean Energy from working at its optimal level!
Need I remind you that it's Clean and Sustainable Energy while Fossil fuel or oil is not!
